Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018!
Reflecting back on 2017, I don't quite know how this year has gone by so fast... 2017 has been a year of fun adventures, new experiences, growing and deepening relationships, tears and laughter. In all of it, I can only express my profound gratitude for being alive to experience it all, and thank all of those I have had the privilege of walking alongside.
This past year, I read more books, played more gigs, co-wrote more songs, continued working with Cherut Belgium and traveled. I wanted to expand my activities and I did ("Do It Afraid", right? ;) ): I took my first steps in storytelling, played in my first play, acquired some other freelance work in social media, administration and copywriting, started storytelling/acting lessons, started an electronic music project with a new friend (more to come!) and recently adopted a dog. At the same time, while social media only shows the fun times, there were moments of doubt and insecurity, and tough life questions and decisions. My family and I went through some difficult times this year, but we are all still here and that in itself is cause for celebration!
Sharing my music and stories with the people I have played for continues to be a huge source of fulfillment and joy! I have been extremely fortunate to have had such lovely audiences this past year! So: THANK YOU!! Without you and the people booking me, this would not be possible. To the musicians who played with me this year on and off stage: thank you for sharing your talent and friendship with me!
Here are some of my personal favorite pictures of the past year that are not in the Instagram grid above:
In the new year, I am spending January with Alfie, our 1-year-old dog who came to live with us two weeks ago, familiarizing him with life in our house and our circle, and working behind the scenes. Some new things are around the corner, and I look forward to sharing that journey with you.
Thank you for following me on this adventure! I wish you and your loved ones a fantastic New Year, filled with joy, peace, hope, health and, most importantly, love!
